Waylon was the Balladeer/Narrator of 'The Dukes Of Hazzard' which ran from 1979 to 1985. Waylon also wrote the theme tune for the show which became one of the most popular TV Theme songs
'The Good Ol Boys'
By Waylon Jennings
Just two good ol’ boys,
Never meaanin’ no harm,
Beats all you never saw ,
Been in trouble with the law,
Since the day they was born,
Straightnin’ the curves,
Flattnin’ the hills,
Someday the mountain might get em ,
but the law never will,
Makin’ their way the only way they know how,
That’s just a little bit more than the law will allow,
Just two good ol boys,
Wouldn’t change if they could,
Fightin the system like a two modern day Robin Hoods.
(Alternate verse for the album)
I’m a good ol boy,
You know my mamma loved me,
But she don’t understand,
They keep showing my hands and not my face on TV.
Taken from 'Music Man'
Footnote: Country Star Buck Owens died 25th March from heart failure
For the next several postings I will be adding the lyrics to some of Waylon's best to the blog: Today it is 'The Dream' – Waylon's last recorded song, a very moving piano ballad, enjoy;
'The Dream'
By Waylon Jennings
I've been a dreamer all of my life,
Believing dreams can come true,
I've lived with the feeling not satisfied,
with only the image of you,
A moment in time,
a place in the sun,
can never be all may seem,
For I've come to know when its all said and done,
a dream is only a dream,
Somewhere somehow I found something more,
than only a sweet state of mind,
fullfilling a need,
and no longer leave,
my heart suspended in time,
I know what I feel,
I know what is real,
I know because I was there,
all I can say I've had it both ways,
and the dream could never compare,
All I can say I've had it both ways,
and the dream could never compare.

Unfortunately Shooter didn't get nominated for breakthrough video of the year on cmt.com. But there is always next year.
Here is the link to watch Shooter's music videos on cmt.com

A lot of things have been said at Waylon.com. Recently new members of the forum have been offensive towards some of the more regular members because of the 'Rivalry between Shooter and Hank III (Hank Williams' Grandson). There has also been a lot of discussion about a Waylon film, some say Brad Pitt as Waylon, some Say Vince Vaughn, I say maybe Matt Dillon.

Still no sign of The Eagle or Live in Austin Texas, but it's still early days.
I've just ordered the DVD version of Live from Austin Texas from Amazon and I bought The Eagle on Ebay.

Waylon's wife Jessi Colter has released her first album in 20 years and it's called 'Out Of The Ashes'. A very apt name in my opinion, and she now has an official website, and here it is.
